Howbankswork.com: Future Services

We want Howbankswork.com to be an invaluable resource for the Financial Services industry. In addition to the editorials, articles and surveying service we would like to know what other services you feel would be valuable.

Listed below are some of the ideas we have come up with and we would like to know what you think. Would any of these services be a precious resource for your area of expertise? Can you foresee any difficulties with these services? Is there a service we could provide that would be particularly useful for you but is not listed below? Please contact us with your comments; we would very much appreciate your feedback.

Advice Surgery
Got a burning question you would like to put to the industry? A question and answer service would allow individuals to post their questions on the website and have opinions from the site editors and other visitors posted on the website too. Of course, the archived questions would be a great resource as well.

Profiles
Some websites act as networking forums. These sites allow individuals to post profiles of themselves detailing their professional history, skills, ambitions, etc. Other individuals can then browse these profiles or search among them for particular characteristics they are interested in. This is a service that we could provide to facilitate wider networking across the banking industry. Is this something you would use? Can you foresee any problems with such a service?

Case Studies
Would you appreciate (and use) an interactive, fun and stimulating case study? Our plan is to provide details of scenario dilemmas within a Financial Services organisation and then let you decide how the organisation should address these dilemmas and see the results of your decisions. These dilemmas will address a range of issues that any Financial Services organisations might currently face including information technology, business process design and outsourcing decisions. The case study might take around five minutes, would this mean you would not use it? Or do you feel it would be a productive way to communicate our ideas?

Shareware / Freebies
How would you like to see a portfolio of free goodies? We were thinking of including things like standard business process maps, example contracts and draft job descriptions. These would be free for any visitor to use or contribute to. Is this likely to be a popular resource? What other freebies would you like to see?

Let us know what you think and hopefully future editions will see the launch of some resources that make a real difference for the Financial Services industry.
